Gatineau Skincare History

Professional skincare range Gatineau was founded in France in the 1930s by Mme. Jeanne Gatineau, a physiotherapist and chiropodist who opened her first beauty salon in Paris in 1937. Her fundamental philosophy was to combine nature’s purest ingredients with the latest biotechnology - summed up in Gatineau’s slogan, ‘Pure Technology’.

Gatineau was brought to the UK in the early 1990s by Andrew Bagley, who was impressed by the company’s years of pioneering research and development. During his travels through Europe, Andrew spent some time in France, where he noticed that many French women had beautiful complexions. It’s common for French women to use sophisticated salon beauty ranges - in France, such products are often considered an essential part of a skincare routine from the teenage years onward. This approach to skincare inspired Andrew to launch Gatineau in the UK in 1991.

Today, almost 70 years on from Mme. Gatineau’s first salon, Gatineau has become one of the most renowned, envied and advanced anti-ageing skincare houses. As life expectancy continues to increase, Gatineau’s aim is to develop skincare that helps to maintain a beautiful, supple and healthy skin throughout a woman’s life.

Gatineau products and facials can be found at Truly Scrumptious Beauty Salon, Farnborough.
