The Celebs on Sunday magazine, which comes free with the Sunday Mirror in the UK, had a great review of Geluscious Gel Moisturising Booties at the weekend (22 Apr 07) getting a rating of 8/10.

Botox - women either love it or hate it.

Some people, including Leslie Ash (pictured), Teri Hatcher and Aneglica Houston, have had unpleasant experiences with botox that had dramatic effects, according to an article in the News of The World (15/4/07).

The article highlights the growth of treatments such as Botox by unlicensed operations in the UK leaving people open to blood-borne diseases, including hepatitis and CJD:

• Thousands of clinics are advertising illegally and injecting botox for clients
• Approx 3000 laser clinics treating patients are unlicensed
• Over 75 per cent of patients don’t fully understand the treatments they are having
• The growth in ‘boozy’ Botox parties, where women get together as a party for the treatments

Botox is a prescription drug that should only be administered by a Doctor, or a nurse under supervision and it is illegal to advertise the drug. But, these laws are being ignored.

Ladies, if you have Botox, better check the risks

Apparently, we still don’t see taking precautions against the sun as a real priority according to this survey, reported on Cosmetics Design:

Ultimately the survey results appear to
indicate that awareness of preventing skin damage is still overshadowed
by the desire to find treatments for skin damage.

Cancer Research advises us to be SMART when it comes to suncare.

We all love to look fabulous, don’t we, and sometimes maybe some of the newest products are a little out of our reach in terms of price. Perhaps we should take a leaf out of a little black book of beauty secrets that highlight some of the beauty tricks ofcelebrities:

Halle Berry uses coffee for her smooth, cellulite-free thighs.

"You just mix coffee
grinds with a little bit of body wash and rub it on your thigh area to
minimize the look of cellulite," says Kym Douglas the co-author of The
Black Book of Hollywood’s Beauty Secrets.

Cindy Crawford keeps
her face moist with a mixture of milk and water.

"She also uses a
combination of olive oil and coffee grinds to help make she skin glow
and pop"

Julia Roberts lathers olive oil on her fingernails to get them looking
smooth.

"It just adds that extra shiny coat like you’ve done a clear
gloss while also conditioning the cuticles."

Angelina
Jolie’s pout is another beauty trend that many women try and emulate. But Kym points out that  you can use cinnamon oil
instead.

"Cinnamon oil makes the lips tingle a little bit and it
encourages blood flow which gives you a natural plumpness," says
Douglas.

Catherine Zeta Jones puts crushed up strawberries on
her teeth to make them white.

"The anti-oxidants and the acid in the strawberries make
your teeth look really white," says Douglas.
