We’ve been threading in the salon now for about 18 months and it seems the technique is becoming more popular with people approaching us who already know about it.
I’m going to do a video in the next couple of weeks to demonstrate how it works but it is basically a hair removal treatment that uses thread to lift the hair out of the follicle straight from the root. The thread is twisted and as it is moved over the hair, it circles the hair to pull it out.
Some people prefer it to waxing because the skin is not touched, just the hair.
Why not try it next time you are in?

It’s easier and better for us to post so I will be online a little bit more often after a slacking summer. Well I say slacking but I have been waxing and massage for England in the Salon and also adding more products to the shop.
So, watch this space for more beauty articles - you may even see some beauty videos coming soon…

Sorry for so little posting in the last month, been busy in the salon - it’s not as if I have been out enjoying the British Summer, just slaving over ladies nails and men’s backs - oo’er.
Anyway, went surfing on Sunday, web surfing that is, and found this funky little handbag shop in Whitchurch, Hampshire, which isn’t too far away from me.
Was going to buy online, but figured as it was so near I’d pop down there and got myself a bargain or three. Quality handbags though.

Sun tan lotion can soften or dissolve your acrylic nails or nail polish according to this article on Beauty Brains.
If you want to find out if your sun tan lotion of choice will ruin your nails, try this (from Beauty Brain):
Smear a little of your favourite nail polish on a piece of glass (you can use an empty nail polish bottle or even a old compact mirror. Then, take that with you when you’re shopping for a sunscreen. Squeeze a little of the sunscreen product onto your polish smear and see if it softens the film. That should be a pretty good indicator if it will be okay when you actually apply it with your manicured fingers.

Onwards and upwards for Coleen McLoughlin who seems to be making a name for herself away from being the imminent Mrs Wayne Rooney.
According to Now Magazine she is launching her own range of beauty products, which may make her £10 million over the next few years.
Coleen will design and promote the brand (I presume with some help from some people who know what they are doing
) which will include her own fragrance. Apparently the beauty range will be in shops for next summer - 2008.

One of my favourite new blogs - The Beauty Brain - has an great article about sunless tanning - why it works and is it good for you?
Sunless tanning, or as I like to call it - a fake tan - is a great way to get some quick colour without having to resort to lying in the sun or under a sun bed. I always apply one a couple of days before a party just to liven up my complexion.
Beauty Brain also tell you how sunless tanning works.
My fave fake tanning product range is St. Tropez as it gives a quick natural looking tan - not too much but just enough colour to see the difference, or more importantly, for other people to see the difference. One of their newer products is Everyday, which is a moisturiser that helps build and maintain a healthy looking tan but I haven’t tried it just yet.
But, remember, these products do only give you a fake tan. Your skin is no more resistant to actual sun, so always wear your sun tan lotion when out in the sun.
